For decades, queer women’s nightlife has existed in a strange contradiction: deeply desired and globally networked, yet often far harder to find than equivalent spaces for gay men.

Bars have closed in large numbers across North America and Europe, and in many cities, sapphic nightlife survives through temporary takeovers, pop-ups and underground parties rather than permanent venues. That scarcity is part of what makes major annual queer women’s events feel so important. They are not just parties. They are a sort of temporary paradise for queer women. From the pool-party spectacle of Palm Springs’ legendary Dinah to the beach clubs of Ibiza and the cozy queer intimacy of Provincetown, these weekends give lesbian, bisexual, trans and nonbinary attendees the rare experience of occupying social spaces where they are not a niche demographic but the centre of gravity. Some lean heavily into nightlife and hookups; others mix dancing with wellness, arts programming or community building.

Here are the world’s seven biggest and best multi-day parties for queer women, starting with what’s happening next.

Girls in Wonderland

Orlando, Florida. June 4 to 8, 2026

Taking place in Orlando, Florida, the city where Disney is a benevolent guiding presence for all sorts of good times, Girls in Wonderland is the ultimate queer takeover. Running concurrently with Gay Days Orlando (June 4 to 7, 2026), the long-running party draws thousands of women for a weekend of pool parties, charity events, comedy performances and massive club nights, all done with a twist of South Beach style. It’s famous for its diverse lineup of performers, this year including comedians Sammy Ruddy and Dr. Anna Lepeley, activist Kirstie Pike, burlesque troupe Les Vixens, and Dayna, Magan, Mel and Ashley from Season 2 of The Ultimatum: Queer Love. One of their parties encourages guests to wear certain colours based on their availability. The crowd is youngish, though older women will come out for the performance events. Just as an aside, in case your male friends were asking, the gay male–focused party One Magical Weekend takes place in Orlando on the same dates. Disney’s playground at its queerest.

About Last Night

Toronto, Ontario. June 26 to 28, 2026

These WLW party promoters host WLW parties throughout the year, but their events during Pride Toronto (June 26 to 28, 2026) truly turns up the Sapphic volume as the biggest WLW event in Canada. Three parties make up their Pride series: Fantasy Island, in a gorgeous venue by Lake Ontario on the Friday; Hide & Seek, in a multi-room club venue on the Saturday; and the main event, Soaked, held at a venue with a rooftop pool on the Sunday. The hosts welcome LGBTQ2S+ women/nonbinary individuals and queer and trans men who are accompanied by at least two women, trans or nonbinary folks. The vibe is urban chic but inclusive, with a range of musical styles.

ELLA International Lesbian* Festival

Mallorca, Spain. August 27 to September 4, 2026

People relaxing by a large swimming pool at a sunny villa with palm trees.

ELLA is less of a circuit party, more of a sophisticated lifestyle festival for queer women. Based on the stunning Mediterranean island of Mallorca, the week-long program includes culture, sports and gourmet food alongside nightly parties. After 10 years of festivals, what makes it unique is the “ELLA Spirit,” a focus on empowerment and high-quality experiences. Guests (queer women and nonbinary people) might spend the morning hiking or kayaking, and the evening at a glamorous beach club gala. It attracts a slightly more international and mature crowd, though the energy remains vibrant and celebratory throughout the island’s most beautiful coves.

Sappho Women/International Eressos Women’s Festival

Lesbos, Greece. September 9 to 19, 2026

For a truly historical pilgrimage, head to the fishing village of Skala Eressos on the island of Lesbos, Greece. This two-week festival, founded in 2000 by a not-for-profit organization, is the ultimate international gathering, deeply rooted in the history of the poet Sappho. The parties here range from open-air beach dancefloors to sunset cruises. Unlike the high-production circuit parties of the U.S., the vibe is authentic, bohemian and incredibly welcoming. Guests will find women from every continent sharing ouzo and dancing on the sand. It’s a slower-paced, soulful celebration that culminates in some of the most beautiful beach parties you’ll experience. Participants include cis women, trans women and nonbinary individuals whose identities and lived experiences align with women’s and queer-women’s communities.

The Dinah (Dinah Shore Weekend)

Palm Springs, California. September 30 to October 4, 2026

Two people on stage face a large, vibrant outdoor pool party with palm trees.

The first Dinah since founder Mariah Hanson handed the reins to long-time Dinah team members Bella Barkow and Rose Garcia, this one is the beginning of a new era for the Dinah. The largest festival in the world for queer women, it attracts as many as 20,000 participants over five days of parties. Often called the Lesbian Coachella because of its astute choices for musical performers, they’ve featured stars like Katy Perry and Lady Gaga before they hit the mainstream. It’s a rite of passage for queer women, known for its high-energy atmosphere, celebrity sightings and the iconic White Party. Female-identified women, non-binary folks and trans folks are welcome.

Women’s Week Provincetown

Provincetown, Massachusetts. October 13 to 19, 2026

Less purely nightlife-focused than the Dinah or Ibiza, this week-long festival remains one of the most important recurring gatherings for lesbians and queer women in the U.S. Running since 1984, making it one of the oldest lesbian festivals in the world, the event blends entertainment, arts programming, social gatherings, comedy, music and nightlife into a takeover of Provincetown each October. In 2025, they hosted more than 300 different activities. The age range is unusually broad. Younger queer women attend alongside older lesbians who have been coming to Provincetown for decades, creating one of the few recurring queer women’s events where multiple generations mix naturally. Because Provincetown is compact and highly walkable, social interaction spills constantly into restaurants, inns, beaches and streets.

Velvet Ibiza

Ibiza, Spain. May 2027 (dates TBD)

Belgian DJ Carine De Mesmaeker launched Velvet Ibiza in 2015, the evolution of the parties she had been hosting in Europe. For an all-inclusive experience on the world’s party island, Velvet Ibiza is the gold standard. And it’s just for LGBTQ+ women. This five-day festival takes over a resort in Cala Martina, creating an environment where attendees can truly let go. It’s special because of its intimacy and European flair; you aren’t just attending a party, you’re living in a queer village for a week. The schedule is a perfect balance of daytime pool lounging, athletic tournaments and heavy-hitting club nights. Because everyone stays on-site, the summer camp vibes are strong.
